Talking about job search in the government to a friend last night, I used the phrase “snail’s pace.” This led me to wonder how often people see snails in the US. I remember seeing snails all the time as a kid in China…perhaps I stopped paying attention to them as a taller person
. But that means I haven’t seen them in like 15 years…
Sort of cute eh?

Cute pic. You’re right, I don’t see them to often, you have to know where to look. When I was in Austria we had to be careful not to step on them. I wonder why they’re so hard to find here.

Aw. We have them in the garden in my home in Cinci after it rains sometimes, but they seem very uncommon these days.
As a kid I’d find snails and slugs all over the North Woods in Wisconsin… I loved the feel of slugs (they are like one big muscle, which is cool, but then so SLIMMEEYYY that you can run around threatening to stick them to yur brothers…) but thought snail shells will cooler.
I think in general they prefer forests, especially wet ones, which is maybe why we don’t see them much. We have lots of earth worms in Ohiot hough!
